Jeffrey Williams Sr,ODFounder/Optometrist
Dr. Williams Sr. grew up in Southern California. He studied Optometry and is an honor graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry.
He is a long term member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, and the Suffolk County Optometric Society. Dr. Williams Sr. has practiced for over thirty-five years, is a past president of the Suffolk Optometric Society and received the 'Optometrist of the Year' award. Dr. Williams Sr. was also known as 'Buck' Sergeant Williams, an infantry veteran of the United States Army.
In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and grandchildren. Dr. Williams Sr. has interests in photography, computers, reading about numismatic items, and languages.
Jeffrey S. Williams, Jr, OD, Dipl ABOOwner/Optometrist
Dr. Williams was born and raised on Long Island. He studied Optometry and is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is a Board Certified Optometrist by The American Board of Optometry and The National Board of Optometric Examiners.
To strengthen his field of expertise Dr. Williams did a cataract co-management and anterior segment disease internship at The Ludwick Eye Center, in Chambersburg PA. He proceeded to do a glaucoma and diabetic eye disease internship at the Chillicothe V.A., in Chillicothe, Ohio. To further his education in contact lenses, he did a cornea and contact lens internship at The Ohio State University, College of Optometry, where he trained in fitting contact lenses for keratoconus, post surgery, ortho keratology, astigmatism, and presbyopia. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, The New York State Optometric Association, The Suffolk County Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry.
When Dr. Williams takes a rare break from providing care to his patients he enjoys staying active by attending the gym on a regular basis and spending quality time with his four children.
Dr. Bacaris resides on Long Island with her husband Patrick of 31 years, her grown daughter and son in law, one dog, and two cats. Dr. Bacarisenjoys artistic painting, recreational fishing with her family, vacationing in Disney World as a longstanding member of the Disney Vacation Club, and visiting with extended family in Greece.
Dr. Bacaris has been serving the Long Island Community for 36 years and had been in private practice at Long Island Optometric Eyecare P.C. from April 2005 to August 2020, and has now joined the practice of Sound Vision Care, Inc. Dr. Bacaris is a family-oriented practitioner and utilizes cutting edge technology in providing her patients with optimal vision care and eye health.
Dr. Bacaris attended undergraduate school at New York City Technical College and Queens College, where she received her Associate in Applied Sciences and Bachelor of Science Degrees, graduating with Cum Laude honors; she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1987; furthermore, Dr. Bacaris worked as a licensed optician prior to obtaining her doctorate, and is knowledgeable in using her technical skills for eyewear fitting and adjusting.
Dr. Bacaris's goal continues to be that of building long-term doctor-patient relationships, by providing her patients with the utmost eye care in a safe and friendly environment.
Dr. Batra graduated from CUNY Queens College - Macaulay Honors with a B.A. in Economics. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Batra completed his rotations at the William Feinbloom Low Vision Center in Philadelphia, PA, at a private practice, Eye Design in Clinton, MD and an OD/MD practice, Seidenberg-Protzko Eye Associates in Havre De Grace, MD. Through his internships and externships, Dr. Batra gained experience in conducting pre/post-operative care for cataracts, glaucoma, LASIK, and strabismus surgeries with emphasis in pediatrics, anterior/posterior segments, and dry eye disease, fitting specialty contact lenses in patients with Keratoconus, and working with patients with advanced eye diseases to improve their activities of daily living.
Along with his passion for primary care, Dr. Batra has an optometric emphasis in dry eye surface disease, specialty contact lenses, and myopia management. He is certified in fitting FDA-approved MiSight 1-Day Myopia Control Lenses. Growing from his roots as class president in Optometry school, Dr. Batra is a part of the New York State Optometric Association and American Optometric Association and hopes to influence the next generation of eyecare professionals.
Born in Flushing, NY, and raised in Long Island, NY Dr. Batra enjoys spending quality time with his family and friends, entertaining those around him with his dance moves, and playing basketball/golf in his free time. He looks forward to seeing you soon and providing the best experience Sound Vision Care has to offer!
Dr. Jin Chiu grew up in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from University at Albany in Albany, New York. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology and minor in English Literature. He then went on to received his Doctor of Optometry from Nova Southeastern University (NSU).
Dr. Chiu has completed his externship in Commonwealth Eye Surgery in Lexington, Kentucky where he managed pre and post-operative care for patients under going refractive surgery or cataract extraction. During this time, he also had extensive training in management of anterior segment disease. Dr. Chiu then completed his rotations in NSU, gaining experience in contact lenses, dry eyes, cornea ,retina and geriatric eye care.
During his free time he loves spending time with his family and dog, hiking, and traveling.
Dr. DeRicco grew up on Long Island and completed her undergraduate studies at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she earned a certificate in Advanced Studies in Contact Lenses.
Dr. DeRicco completed a primary eye care rotation at The Eye Centers of South Florida in Miami, FL where she managed pre and post-operative care for those patients undergoing cataract and LASIK surgery. To broaden her knowledge of anterior and posterior segment disease she completed a rotation at an Ophthalmology office in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. DeRicco then completed a contact lens rotation at Lehigh Valley Eye Associates in Allentown, PA. She proceeded to complete an ocular disease rotation at the Northport, VA in Northport, NY and lastly, completed a low vision rotation at the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. DeRicco is dedicated to providing full scope primary care optometry and is passionate about fitting contact lenses from specialty contacts, such as RGPs and Sclerals for those patients with keratoconus to soft, toric and multifocal lens options, as well as ortho-keratology.
Outside of the office, Dr. DeRicco enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, going to the gym, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors.

Dr. Jones is passionate about providing full-scope, patient-centric primary eye care. She is bilingual in Spanish and English. Dr. Jones completed her undergraduate studies in Pre-Optometry at MCPHS University in Boston, MA and went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at SUNY College of Optometry in New York, NY.
After finishing her studies, Dr. Jones joined an OD/MD group practice in Brooklyn and worked alongside retina and glaucoma specialists, in addition to providing medical eye exams. She also provided ophthalmology consults to emergency medicine physicians at Wyckoff Heights Medical Center.
At Sound Vision Care, Dr. Jones continues to concentrate on managing ocular disease while also providing comprehensive eye care. She fits soft spherical, toric, and multifocal contact lenses and she is now expanding her clinical care into specialty contact lenses, including RGP and scleral lenses. Dr. Jones is also certified in fitting the FDA-approved Paragon CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy) lenses.
Dr. Kaur was born and raised in Astoria, Queens. She received her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences at Stony Brook University. She continued to complete her Doctorate of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry (ICO) in the Windy City of Chicago.
Dr. Kaur received training in primary care, ocular disease, low vision rehabilitation, cornea and contact lens, pediatrics, binocular vision, and neuroretinal diseases during her time at ICO. She continued to complete her externship rotations gaining further experience in ocular disease at the Northport VA in Long Island, primary care at MyEyeDr in Manchester, NH, and advanced corneal disease management along with soft to rigid lens fitting at The Cornea and Laser Eye Institute in NJ.
She is dedicated to serving her patients with the best care in a friendly and professional setting at SVC. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, traveling to new places, and trying new food.
Dr. McKillop grew up on Long Island and received her Bachelor of Sciences in Health Science at James Madison University. She then completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. McKillop completed her externship rotations in primary eye care, ocular disease, pediatrics and contact lens services at The Eye Care Institute.She also spent time rotating through the dry eye clinic of excellence,treating patients with ocular surface disease.
In addition Dr. McKillop completed a primary care rotation at Walter Reed Military Medical Center, where she treated Veterans with ocular disease.She also completed a rotation at the Braverman Eye Center, where she gained extensive knowledge in post operative eye care.
She is passionate about community outreach, and spent time as a scrub technician for cataract surgery performed in impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic with Vision Outreach International. In her free time she loves spending her time with her family and friends, reading, and baking.She also enjoys spending time with her dog, Lola.
Dr. Monika Murawska completed her undergraduate studies at St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with minor in Psychology. She then earned a Bachelor of Science in the Visual Science at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA.
In 2008 she graduated with a Doctor of Optometry Degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Murawska completed her extensive optometric externship rotations with honors in primary eye care, ocular disease, and contact lenses. Dr. Murawska is licensed in therapeutic treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Murawska is dedicated to providing quality family eye care; management of ocular disease and contact lens services from gas permeable, keratoconic lenses, multifocal, toric to soft lenses. She is married with two children who keep her busy and are her greatest joy. Dr. Murawska is fluent in Polish.
Dr. Sookoo, a Long Island native, grew up in Brentwood, a community in which he attributes much of his cultural diversity & inclusivity towards. Dr. Sookoo received his undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science at the University of Hartford, located in West Hartford, Connecticut. He then went on to complete his Doctor of Optometry graduate degree from the New England College of Optometry (NECO), located in Boston, Massachusetts. During his time at NECO, Dr. Sookoo worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) as a Graduate Resident Advisor building and creating safe and inclusive environments for off-campus students.
Dr. Sookoo completed his post-graduate residency training through the VA Boston Healthcare System, Jamaica Plain Campus. Through this training, he specialized in the area of ocular disease with a peak interest in the diagnosis, treatment & management of glaucoma. During his training, Dr. Sookoo presented special topic lectures in areas such as dual therapy in the treatment of Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension as well as ocular manifestations of Sarcoidosis.
Dr. Sookoo is a member of the New York State Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. However, outside of work, he values his time spent with friends and family, going to the gym, traveling to new locations and finding new places for great food!
Dr. Raazia Syedda is a Long Island native and graduated from Stony Brook University where she studied Psychology. She then headed down to sunny Florida, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Vision Science and her Doctorate in Optometry from Nova Southeastern University. During her time at NSU, she completed rotations in primary care, low vision rehabilitation, cornea and contact lens, dry eye, pediatrics, and binocular vision, and retinal disease.
Dr. Syedda went on to advance her clinical expertise in other parts of the Southeast. At Draisin Vision Group in Charleston, she expanded her knowledge of pediatric optometry while providing full-scope eye care to patients from infant to elderly age groups. At Milan Eye Center in Atlanta, she built proficiency in the treatment of ocular disease and the surgical co-management of anterior segment surgery.
Throughout her journey, Dr. Syedda has found true joy in getting to know her patients. Outside of the office, she loves to travel and experience new places, both locally and globally. Dr. Raazia Syedda is thrilled to have landed back on Long Island and can’t wait to meet you.
Dr. Paige Thomas graduated from Pacific University College of Optometry in Forest Grove, Oregon. She then went on to complete her post-graduate residency in ocular disease and surgical co-management at the Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA in Walla Walla, WA and Pacific Cataract & Laser Institute in Kennewick, WA. Dr. Thomas is passionate about patient-centered care and specializes in managing a wide range of ocular conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, keratoconus, and diabetic retinopathy.
Outside of clinic, Dr. Thomas enjoys staying active by hiking, practicing yoga, and playing with her dog.
Dr. Wagoner grew up in Iowa and received his Bachelor of Sciences in Biology at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He moved to San Antonio to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Rosenberg School of Optometry, graduating with honors.
Dr. Wagoner traveled around the country gaining clinical experience in various specialties. He received training in ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. He did a rotation in neuro vision rehabilitation in Dallas, Texas to gain understanding of how to help patients suffering from traumatic brain injury and kids with binocular vision dysfunction. To complete his knowledge of surgical pre and post-operative management, Dr. Wagoner got to work with renowned refractive surgeon Dr. Gregory Parkhurst. He also had the opportunity to join a medical mission trip to the highlands of Guatemala help underserved communities. Upon graduation he spent three years in Washington state at a private practice specializing in dry eye and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Wagoner is passionate about seeing patients of all demographics and strives to learn a little more each day. In his free time he enjoys playing guitar, woodworking, painting, and going on hikes.
Dr. Wiener grew up on Long Island and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Binghamton University. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she earned a certificate in Advanced Studies in Retina.
Dr. Wiener is especially passionate about caring for the pediatric population. She completed her advanced clinical internships in retina and pediatrics at the Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY, Kirman Eye in Hummelstown, PA, The Eye Associates in Bradenton, FL, and The Pediatric and Binocular Vision Department of The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
When not working, Dr. Wiener enjoys spending time with her friends and family and cheering on the NY Mets and the NY Islanders.
