Jeffrey Williams Sr. ODFounder/Optometrist
Dr. Williams Sr. grew up in Southern California. He studied Optometry and is an honor graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry.
He is a long term member of the American Optometric Association, New York State Optometric Association, and the Suffolk County Optometric Society. Dr. Williams Sr. has practiced for over thirty-five years, is a past president of the Suffolk Optometric Society and received the 'Optometrist of the Year' award. Dr. Williams Sr. was also known as 'Buck' Sergeant Williams, an infantry veteran of the United States Army.
In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and grandchildren. Dr. Williams Sr. has interests in photography, computers, reading about numismatic items, and languages.
Dr. Bacaris resides on Long Island with her husband Patrick of 29 years, her two grown children, two dogs, and two cats. Dr. Bacaris enjoys recreational fishing with her family, vacationing in Disney World as a longstanding member of the Disney Vacation Club, and visiting with extended family in Greece.
Dr. Bacaris has been serving the Long Island Community for 33 years and had been in private practice at Long Island Optometric Eyecare P.C. from April 2005 to August 2020, and has now joined the practice of Sound Vision Care, Inc. Dr. Bacaris is a family-oriented practitioner and utilizes cutting edge technology in providing her patients with optimal vision care and eye health.
Dr. Bacaris attended undergraduate school at New York City Technical College and Queens College, where she received her Associate's Degree in Applied Science and Bachelors degrees, graduating with Cum Laude honors; she obtained her Doctor of Optometry degree from the New England College of Optometry in 1987; furthermore, Dr. Bacaris worked as a licensed optician prior to obtaining her doctorate, and is knowledgeable in using her technical skills for eyewear fitting and adjusting.
Dr. Bacaris's goal continues to be that of building long-term doctor-patient relationships, by providing her patients with the utmost eye care in a safe and friendly environment.
Jeffrey S. Williams, Jr, OD, Dipl ABOOptometrist
Dr. Williams was born and raised on Long Island. He studied Optometry and is a graduate of The Ohio State University and is a Board Certified Optometrist by The American Board of Optometry and The National Board of Optometric Examiners.
To strengthen his field of expertise Dr. Williams did a cataract co-management and anterior segment disease internship at The Ludwick Eye Center, in Chambersburg PA. He proceeded to do a glaucoma and diabetic eye disease internship at the Chillicothe V.A., in Chillicothe, Ohio. To further his education in contact lenses, he did a cornea and contact lens internship at The Ohio State University, College of Optometry, where he trained in fitting contact lenses for keratoconus, post surgery, ortho keratology, astigmatism, and presbyopia. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, The New York State Optometric Association, The Suffolk County Optometric Association, and the American Academy of Optometry.
When Dr. Williams takes a rare break from providing care to his patients he enjoys staying active by attending the gym on a regular basis and spending quality time with his four children.
Dr. Monika Murawska completed her undergraduate studies at St. John’s University in Jamaica, Queens where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology with minor in Psychology. She then earned a Bachelor of Science in the Visual Science at Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA.
In 2008 she graduated with a Doctor of Optometry Degree from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Murawska completed her extensive optometric externship rotations with honors in primary eye care, ocular disease, and contact lenses. Dr. Murawska is licensed in therapeutic treatment and management of ocular disease. Dr. Murawska is dedicated to providing quality family eye care; management of ocular disease and contact lens services from gas permeable, keratoconic lenses, multifocal, toric to soft lenses. She is married with two children who keep her busy and are her greatest joy. Dr. Murawska is fluent in Polish.
Dr. Wiener grew up on Long Island and received her Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Binghamton University. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she earned a certificate in Advanced Studies in Retina.
Dr. Wiener is especially passionate about caring for the pediatric population. She completed her advanced clinical internships in retina and pediatrics at the Keller Army Community Hospital in West Point, NY, Kirman Eye in Hummelstown, PA, The Eye Associates in Bradenton, FL, and The Pediatric and Binocular Vision Department of The Eye Institute in Philadelphia, PA.
When not working, Dr. Wiener enjoys spending time with her friends and family and cheering on the NY Mets and the NY Islanders.
Dr. Minhas grew up in Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada. She obtained her Bachelor of Science in Neuropsychology at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She then moved to Boston to attend the New England College of Optometry, where she graduated with honours and was named class valedictorian.
Dr. Minhas completed her advanced clinical training in primary eye care, pediatrics, ocular disease, specialty contact lenses, and brain injury rehabilitation. Throughout her training in Boston she had the opportunity to serve diverse patient populations at clinics such as Massachusetts Eye and Ear, Boston Medical Center, Tufts Medical Center, Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, the VA Boston healthcare system, and Charles River Community Health Center.
In her spare time, Dr. Minhas enjoys hiking, being out on the water, travelling to new places, and trying new foods.
Dr. Wagoner grew up in Iowa and received his Bachelor of Sciences in Biology at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas. He moved to San Antonio to earn his Doctor of Optometry degree at the Rosenberg School of Optometry, graduating with honors.
Dr. Wagoner traveled around the country gaining clinical experience in various specialties. He received training in ocular disease at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. He did a rotation in neuro vision rehabilitation in Dallas, Texas to gain understanding of how to help patients suffering from traumatic brain injury and kids with binocular vision dysfunction. To complete his knowledge of surgical pre and post-operative management, Dr. Wagoner got to work with renowned refractive surgeon Dr. Gregory Parkhurst. He also had the opportunity to join a medical mission trip to the highlands of Guatemala help underserved communities. Upon graduation he spent three years in Washington state at a private practice specializing in dry eye and specialty contact lenses.
Dr. Wagoner is passionate about seeing patients of all demographics and strives to learn a little more each day. In his free time he enjoys playing guitar, woodworking, painting, and going on hikes.
Renu TyagarajOD FAAOOptometrist
Dr. Renu Tyagaraj completed her undergraduate studies at Villanova University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Biology.
In 2019, she graduated with a Doctor of Optometry Degree from SUNY College of Optometry. Dr. Tyagaraj went on to complete a residency in Primary Eye Care/Vision Therapy and Low Vision Rehabilitation at Northport VAMC.
Dr. Tyagaraj is dedicated to practicing full scope optometry and is a strong proponent of proper patient education. Dr. Tyagaraj is committed to enhancing excellence in optometric practice by staying updated on current research advances. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry.
In her free time, Dr. Tyagaraj enjoys traveling, spending time with her loved ones, hiking, traveling, and playing golf.
Dr. McKillop grew up on Long Island and received her Bachelor of Sciences in Health Science at James Madison University. She then completed her Bachelor of Sciences in Vision Science and Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University.
Dr. McKillop completed her externship rotations in primary eye care, ocular disease, pediatrics and contact lens services at The Eye Care Institute.She also spent time rotating through the dry eye clinic of excellence,treating patients with ocular surface disease.
In addition Dr. McKillop completed a primary care rotation at Walter Reed Military Medical Center, where she treated Veterans with ocular disease.She also completed a rotation at the Braverman Eye Center, where she gained extensive knowledge in post operative eye care.
She is passionate about community outreach, and spent time as a scrub technician for cataract surgery performed in impoverished areas of the Dominican Republic with Vision Outreach International. In her free time she loves spending her time with her family and friends, reading, and baking.She also enjoys spending time with her dog, Lola.
Dr. Koch grew up on Long Island and received her Bachelor of Sciences in Biomedical Sciences at the University at Buffalo, graduating summa cum laude in 2016. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree at the New England College of Optometry as a Presidential Scholar.
Dr. Koch completed her externship rotation in primary eye care and community health at the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center in Boston, MA. She received training in ocular disease with an emphasis on glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and cataracts at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Boston, MA. She received further training in ocular disease as well as cataract surgery co-management at the Eye Center of South Florida in Miami, FL. She also gained experience in pediatric optometry at the renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL.
During her schooling, Dr. Koch participated in community service trips to Belize and the Dominican Republic to provide free eye exams and eyeglasses to underserved areas. She is passionate about seeing patients of all ages and backgrounds, and the opportunity to provide education on eye health. In her free time, Dr. Koch enjoys spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, running, and yoga.
Dr. Hu grew up in Alberta, Canada and received her Bachelor of Science degree at McGill University, majoring in Anatomy and Cell Biology. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry Degree at State University of New York College of Optometry.
Dr. Hu completed her extensive externship rotations at NYC Health & Hospitals/Gouverneur in Ocular Disease/Primary Care, Compton Eye Associates in Specialty Contact Lenses for Keratoconus and Myopia Control/OrthoKeratology, and Malik Eye Care with a focus in Ocular Disease and surgical co-management. She completed an internship at the University Eye Center at SUNY College of Optometry focusing on Glaucoma, Anterior Segment Cataract and Treatment, Pediatrics, Contact Lens, Low Vision, Vision Therapy and Training, Primary Care, Retina, and Neuro-optometry.
She is passionate about practicing full scope optometry and is dedicated to providing quality care to patients of all ages. Dr. Hu is also fluent in Mandarin. In her free time, she likes spending time with friends and family, traveling, snowboarding and hiking with her dog Roo.
Dr. DeRicco grew up on Long Island and completed her undergraduate studies at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She then completed her Doctor of Optometry degree at The Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she earned a certificate in Advanced Studies in Contact Lenses.
Dr. DeRicco completed a primary eye care rotation at The Eye Centers of South Florida in Miami, FL where she managed pre and post-operative care for those patients undergoing cataract and LASIK surgery. To broaden her knowledge of anterior and posterior segment disease she completed a rotation at an Ophthalmology office in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. DeRicco then completed a contact lens rotation at Lehigh Valley Eye Associates in Allentown, PA. She proceeded to complete an ocular disease rotation at the Northport, VA in Northport, NY and lastly, completed a low vision rotation at the William Feinbloom Vision Rehabilitation Center at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. DeRicco is dedicated to providing full scope primary care optometry and is passionate about fitting contact lenses from specialty contacts, such as RGPs and Sclerals for those patients with keratoconus to soft, toric and multifocal lens options, as well as ortho-keratology.
Outside of the office, Dr. DeRicco enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, going to the gym, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors.
